Daines Releases Olympics Ad Honoring Montana’s Heroes

Daines ad marks the start of the XXII Olympic Winter Games by honoring Montana veterans for their service

Steve Daines today marked the start of the XXII Olympic Winter Games by launching an ad honoring the bravery and sacrifice of Montana’s veterans.

“Montana’s Heroes” will premiere during the opening ceremonies of the Olympic Winter Games and continue to run for the duration of the games.

In the ad, Daines calls on Montanans to remember Montana’s veterans, whose accomplishments aren’t always broadcast on national television, while cheering on American athletes during the Olympic Winter Games.

Daines also pledges to continue fighting for Montana veterans, noting his recent vote against cuts to veterans’ pensions and retirement pay.

“I’d like to talk with you about some heroes whose accomplishments aren’t broadcast on national television – Montana’s veterans, who have selflessly served our country,” Daines states in the ad. “Their bravery and sacrifice make our country great. That’s why I voted to protect military pay and veterans’ pensions. And as your Senator, my commitment to them will never wavier.”

“Montana’s Heroes” will run in addition to Daines’ first ad, “Job Interview,” which was released on Wednesday.

Full script:

America is home to the world’s greatest athletes, and I join you in cheering them on to gold.

But I’d like to talk with you about some heroes whose accomplishments aren’t broadcast on national television – Montana’s veterans, who have selflessly served our country.

Their bravery and sacrifice make our country great. That’s why I voted to protect military pay and veterans’ pensions.

And as your Senator, my commitment to them will never wavier.

I’m Steve Daines and I approve this message.
