Steve Daines Wins Republican Nomination for U.S. Senate

BOZEMAN, Mont. – Representative Steve Daines released the following statement after securing the Republican nomination for Montana’s U.S. Senate seat:

Today, Montanans sent a clear message that they are ready to change Washington and fight for more jobs, and less government. Montanans can no longer afford a U.S. Senate – or an appointed Senator— that follows President Obama and rubber-stamps failed policies like Obamacare, job-killing energy regulations, and trillions of dollars in wasteful Washington spending. It’s time to bring some common sense to the Senate and work toward policies that move Montana forward and increase opportunity for all Montanans. Cindy and I are humbled by the outpouring of support and encouragement we have received from the people of Montana, and I’ll continue working to share our positive message of more jobs, less government with the people of Montana.”

Steve Daines is a fifth-generation Montanan, life-long sportsman and father of four serving the people of Montana in Congress. Prior to serving as Montana’s Representative, Daines worked for nearly three decades in the private sector. Daines served as Vice President of RightNow Technologies, a Bozeman-based software company, where he helped create hundreds of good-paying Montana jobs. Daines and his wife Cindy live in Bozeman and have four children.
