BILLINGS, Mont. – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce today announced its endorsement of Representative Steve Daines in the race for Montana’s open U.S. Senate seat.
“I’m honored to receive the support of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce,” Daines stated at an event held this afternoon at Montana Peterbilt in Billings, Montana. “As someone with 28 years of business experience, I know that jobs aren’t created in Washington— they are created by entrepreneurs and small business owners across the country. I’m committed to fighting for pro-growth policies that reduce senseless overregulation and pave the way for small businesses to create more, good Montana jobs. We need commonsense solutions in Washington that lead to more jobs, and less government.”
U.S. Chamber of Commerce National Political Director Rob Engstrom applauded Daines’ strong record of creating good-paying Montana jobs and working for policies that promote business growth and cut red tape for Montana small businesses.
“The U.S. Chamber is proud to stand alongside the Montana Chamber of Commerce and our local businesses to show our united support of Steve Daines for Senate. Steve is a tireless advocate for policies that remove barriers to growth and promote jobs opportunity. He will lead our country’s economic recovery by getting government out of the way so free enterprise can lead. It’s an honor to be in Billings to endorse his Senate campaign,” said Rob Engstrom, U.S. Chamber National Political Director and Senior Vice President.
The Montana Chamber of Commerce, which announced its endorsement of Daines’ U.S. Senate campaign in June, also commended Daines for fighting for pro-growth policies.
“The Montana Chamber believes that the best way to keep Montana’s economy growing is to elect people like Steve Daines who will work for creating good-paying job opportunities by knocking down barriers to business creation and expansion,” said Webb Brown, President and CEO of the Montana Chamber.
Before being elected as Montana’s Representative, Daines worked in business for 28 years. He helped grow RightNow Technologies— a small, start-up technology company—into Bozeman’s largest commercial employer, with over 1,000 employees.
Daines is also a recipient of the U.S. Chamber’s Spirit of Enterprise Award and was recognized by GovTrack as the most effective first-term Congressman in the 113th Congress for moving bills through committee.
