Daines Campaign Statement on Billings Debate

BILLINGS, Mont. – Steve Daines’ strong message of more jobs and less government received overwhelming support from Montanans this evening during a televised debate held in Billings, Montana.

In the first debate between Daines and Democrats’ hand-picked candidate Amanda Curtis, Montanans saw a stark contrast between Daines’ positive solutions for growing Montana’s economy and getting our country back on track, and Curtis’s unwavering support of Obama’s failed agenda.

Tonight, Montanans saw a clear contrast between a solutions-focused candidate who will stand for Montana – and one who will stand with Obama’s job-killing agenda,” said Daines for Montana campaign manager Jason Thielman. “While Amanda Curtis defended President Obama’s failed policies and stood by her long record of opposing Montanans’ Second Amendment rights, Steve Daines laid out a clear plan for growing Montana’s economy and protecting middle class Montana families. Steve’s positive message of more jobs and less government continues to resonate with Montanans who stand with Steve and his strong record of fighting for the people of Montana.”

The debate, hosted by the Billings Gazette, Yellowstone Public Radio and the Montana Television Network, took place at Montana State University-Billings this evening.
